The Canadian Mental Health Association, North Bay and District is warning of a suspicious telephone solicitation in the community.
It has come to our attention that a member of the public has received a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and asking for a donation.
Be aware that the CMHA national office and the North Bay branch DO NOT use telephone campaigning for financial support. Anyone who calls to make such a request is not doing so on our behalf.
If you receive an unsolicited phone call asking for donations, we urge you to exercise caution.
You can also check that an organization is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by consulting the CRA Charities listings or calling 1-800-267-2384.
